Question for the peanut gallery

Can anyone out in the penny dreadfuls there tell me the driving wheel diameter of the Bachmann J class 4-8-4? I've heard others comment its a good match for a Ka, but the pictures I have seen (plus the fact that the version I have has wheels that are too small) makes me wonder....

Hi. I have a new version of the bachmann J steamer which was purchased in late 2008. It is a beautiful runner with superb detail, unlike the earlier versions.the driving wheels are 10mm diameter and overall length of chassis from front bogie to rear is 100mm. there is one on trademe at present for around $150.00 and it is the same reputable trader I purchased from.I fitted a NCE decoder in tender and it was quite simple to do with plenty of room.

The old version :

Lead Truck Wheel Diam, (Spacing) 5.0, 14.0

Lead Truck Distance

12.0mm

Driver Diam 10mm

Driver Spacing
12.0 + 12.0 + 12.0 mm

Trail Truck Lead Axle (Diam, Dist)

6.0, 15.5

Trail Truck 2nd Axle (Diam, Spacing)

6.0, 10.5

from the Australian N Scale Yahoo group, worth joining for this kind of thing.

cheers, Ben
