Oooo, 200 hundred not out.

Well, 200 posts up in 11 months. Not a bad rate. and theres probably at least a dozen posts in there that have something useful to say. Thanks to Kiwibonds for providing tonights shots. the fist is one of his night specials. Note he shoots from the off side so as not to blind the driver. However I see its almost managed to light up the hills behind.
The second is maybe what Kiwirail should be doing for a paint scheme. Isn't photoshop wonderful.

Yes I agree. Always liked the Black TR scheme. Well done that man!

That scheme looks fantastic!
"Bumblebee" paint scheme easily has to be the best paint scheme applied to a loco in NZ bar none!

If we can flog a decal from somewhere, we should organise a stealth raid next time one passes through...what say you, Drew?

that's what I've been thinking. Some 2pack epoxy primer plus black and a sticker...

Give it a clean while you're at it!

Lol railway vigilantism I like it. The black does look good but i think I still prefer the new grey/orange/yellow one. If i didn't know better I would swear that photo was real. You could maybe send it to someone in higher up in Kiwirail. See what they think. Why didn't they run a public competition to design the new paint scheme? That would have got a lot of the country involved.

Also forgot to add. Its amazing to think that railway bridges like the one in that first photo can support the weight of a fully laden 30 car coal train. Is that bridge the one at Jacksons on the westcoast or is it the one leaving Arthurs Pass heading east

That photo has already been circulated through the upper echelons, unfortunately with no success....
