Bend in the sides
Strengthen with solder once the wheels are in
Must get some wheels one day
Hmmm ...... maybe not
Just past these bits onto some other poor unsuspecting sucker who already has the wheels

that is a very clever idea - I like - now all it needs are the sideframes which can be made in CAD and then sent to Mark4 or shapeways and if needed copied in resin, bravo...

what wheelbase is this bogie? i have not been paying attention for a while and not sure what bogie options have been progressed for NZ120. I've been playing around with some 5'4" US ones by Coastal Engineering but they frankly will not do ...
Are the type 16/18 same wheelbase as the type 14? I had the impression while I was drawing up the type 14 for rapid prototyping that it was generally the same size as the newer bogies, just slightly different shape to the sideframes. Certainly in NZ120 it would be hard to tell the difference. Type 14 Brass castings taken off the RP masters are in hand, just searching for someone who can manufacture the correct wheels. We experienced a bit of an oops thinking we could use 2mm Assoc. wheels with 14.2mm axles, not realising that the tyre profile is too narrow to cope with your typical N-gauge turnout. Good ol' Bachmann wheels fit, (but are smaller diameter) if anyone wants to buy the bogies without wheels.
