I'm still working on the airbubble problem, and I might have to invest in a cheap set of digital scales judging by the 3rd pour I've just done. The scales I have a fine for brewing beer and making cakes (mmm, cake...) but don't cut it to measure out 5g of each component.

Last time I looked for a pair/set of scales [sic], I was surprised to find how hard it was to find something decent (i.e. that weighed to more then 2 significant figures and yet didn't cost two arms and a leg). Leaving the lab behind has its consequences...
Cheers, Luke
Indeed, the things we miss when we move out of nice large labs. My new one has a shortage of a few things, but it really lack minion's.
Buy your wife/partner a new set of cooking scales! works out well. In my case I had to confiscate the older better scales.....
I seem to recall i brought our set of scales to brew beer with, my wife doesn't use them much as she is a natural cook.
Good on you Len...resin casting is a long road with many things to learn..bubbles are the worst.
Urethane resin is the best but it sets off very fast...2 minutes I think was the max but rapid cooling in a little freezer could hold it off longer.
I always went by volume, after the first weighing, it was much qucker and paper cups are throw away.
Keep us informed on the Blog page please
all the best...Rod
