Just for a change from all the 50's and 60's stuff I've been prattling on about, tonight we actually have something a bit more modern. Actually, it couldn't possibly get more modern.
7008 in new paint on the Hillside traverser. No idea who took this.
Comments include 'They must have gotten a bulk discount on the cab side windows at Mitre 10.'

I quite like the new paint scheme. It reminds me of the older colours but still looks nice and modern. Dont the locos look great just out of the paint shop. pitty after 2 or 3 trips they will be covered in grim and dust (especially the Midland Coal locos).
Experience with the KiwiRail DX's around Wellington is that they grubby up quite nicely....not like that horrid green colour.....
