Your wish is our command

Further to Wee Duggies comments on Opua wharf, here is the track plan as I can't remember if it has featured here before (Oh, it sort of has).
However heres the actual track plan. Not only the wharf, but also the station is incredibly neat.

(We must restart the layout ideas section here, or maybe a design a station section)

It is interesting to compare this plan with the current Google Earth view of the same area.....

A brief scan of some of my dusty collection of NZMRG Journals revealed two items relating to Opua:

1. Feb '85 pg 20 - a partial track plan tracing of wharf & station, with some notes & a pix of streamlined J emerging from behind the station - courtesy one J Agnew

2. Dec '94 pg 34 - a nice "helicopter pix" of a Wb shunting on the wharf - a rake of W wagons (probably ex Moerwa freezing works), and 2 ships tied up - circa 1900 ?

no doubt there are more gems in past Journals to discover - one of the rail oriented calendars had a nice colour pix of a 4-8-2 on the turntable at Opua from memory.

[another "interesting" word verifier "proles"]

Wow, that appears ready made for a micro layout, or a shelf layout if you included the passing loops to the southwest. In fact, that would adapt quite nicely to a heathen scale known as On30...

have posted some "modern day" pix of wharf trackage on NZ120 site, under "layout competition" thread fyi.
