Just a quick note on where things are up to.
I've added the canvas cover to the rear deck, and added the pickup wires back into the guide holes. After cleaning out the inside of the syringe tube with a piece of broken fret saw blade it has taken it's first stuttering steps last night, which bodes well for the rest of the build once I get the pickup on the rear axles fixed and some more mass into it.

Nice work, yup always tricky and hot soldering up tiny bits of brass - had a few burnt fingers doing this myself. Half pie thought about doing something (a galloping goose or a Mack railbus) like this in 1/64th scale for a bit of a change.
Nick
looking good - will you put some guards on as well ?
steve w.
probably not as they will interfer with the pickups. They also seem to have been removed from the NZ prototype trucks.
That's very good work.
but..
"..the sad little plink of yet another fret saw blade"
another butterfly dies
As long as its a white one, its fine...
yeah I prefer the black jellybeans.
So the bush blokey must be very small. Super fine soldering. What are the dimensions?
