Local sights

On our touring today I came across the main reason what Kiwirail doesn't wash its locos

'Hmm, must have shrunk in the wash again....'

This local attraction is just 5 minutes bike ride from the Schloss. I was quite impressed. The loop of track seems to be quite long.

'Ladies and gentlemen, the Overlander will be a bit late in Wellington on Monday as its only 1/10 the size...'

I believe the track is about 3 kms or more, I remeber when i came down this way in the early 90's the track was a very short loop, they have slowly extended it to the playground and other areas, they also building a new station platform at the playground(unless thats been finished since last year)

i have just purchased rangitikei rails 3 from EJ videos http://www.ejvideos.com/index.html
this has around 10mins of video of this layout.very well done.she has also filmed while riding on it.i could see a setup like this running around our orchard. we also have an old tramway cutting which could be incorporated into the layout.what a great way to head off to work in the morning.trouble is you wouldn't get much orchard work done.oh well, one day!!!

Thanks for the nice comments. The new station at Playground was opened last June, and the third platform, near the Cafe', opened in time for summer. Mainly the Cafe' platform is expected to be used for charters in conjunction with functions being hosted at the Cafe. I see our web-site has been posted- We are also Facebook here:
