Well, thanks to a dose of 'cantbearseditis' this morning, a trip to Paekakariki did not eventuate. It was going to kill a large chunk of my day were there were other things to be done. however the garden has been sorted and beer bottled, and I managed to fit in a skype chat to Japan.
I'm now off to ponder what projects to have a go at for the Masterton show...

Alerted by the Head Druff, we headed to Paekakariki for the open day. Sorry you couldn't join us. Jasmine enjoyed her rides behind a Ja, and a jigger ("that motor sounds just like a lawnmower, daddy" "That's because it is one, dear"). She also demonstrated she could turn a loco on a turntable all by herself (dad was not allowed to help). Those turntables are nicely balanced.
So, the activities were perhaps a little different to what the Head Druff would have done had lesser priorities not detained him...
Probably better asked on NZ120.org, but... who and what's going to be at Masterton?
I wanted too, but a little too far away this time!
Re: NZ120.org
I am now shut out of NZ120.org. My browser allows me to read posts but not to make any replies to postings. I recently booted up a discarded computer with an old system to make a comment. Too much hassle.
The Wairarapa model railway clubs are putting on a show at the Masterton Town Hall on Sat/Sun 10/11 August. Hours 10-4.
Kiwibonds - Saw a nice quad-header freight heading through Paikakariki on Sunday evening. All 4 locos were DFT/DFB which I thought was unusual.
Yummy. I'm hoping to get to Masterton myself and may bri g a few locos even if there is nowhere for them to plod around on
I'm pondering a 'layout in a weekend...'
Kiwibonds - We have a 500mm length of scenicked NZ120 track (with MMW module ends) that might be used to display locos on if required. An image is shown on the "Modular layout group?" thread of NZ120.org.
Unfortunately I won't be there, I have to play with the 1:1 scale versions both days.
alas it now looks like i'll not be able to make it for that show - flying in on the 9th but to the wrong island. Maybe we can have another mustering of the one-twentyers at Scholss Dandruff
I like the sound of invading Schloss Dandruff and could be a starter....
