Ab's away
Tonight I got a chance to have a go at the first layer of paint on the Ab. Sandpaper and a knife were the order of the evening. From the photo you can see how it went. I think I need to get some more grades of sandpaper.

For inept modelers such as myself, the heady and exciting world of RP / 3D printing gives hope to the possibility that a model of ones favorite prototype can easily and (more importantly) accuretly reproduced.
The one obstacle that holds me back are the constant examples of the rough print quality currently available, which naturally seems to affect the smaller scales worse than the larger ones.
That said, I have seen the 9mil scale models Darryl Smith has had printed in the USA and they are just superb, and it seems that its almost as simple as pulling out a plan from a book, clicking "print" and voila! a train.....
