So, sitting down in the evening and having a read and I come across this photo (in New Zealand railway memories).
This struck me as providing the germ of an idea for a shelf layout. the main station is out of shot on the left the main line curves away from the camera on the right and there is a wharf curving towards the camera on the right. Thus one could have main line trains running behind and shunting at the front.
I'd come up with a plan, but I'm busy cutting up bits of cardboard today in the Man-sion

i have just returned from a grocery trip which included a quick diversion into local hobby shop on way home.(no new journal yet!) someone else was muttering about needing to resubscribe to the guild to speed up the process. i started chatting and turns out he is an S scale modeller who has dabbled with NZ120 through Trackgang. he is really only a tail chaser fan with beer in hand and using RTR. he has also drifted over to the dark side of HO narrow guage Rio Grande. this is his favoured focus at present, due to time constraints(6 months a year overseas)space and most importantly the lack of accessories for NZ120 and S scale in RTR.(cars,buildings,etc)
i digress. he mentioned several concept plans for S scale and NZ 120 , he might explore at some stage and one of these by coincidence was Timaru (He's a mainlander like me) which quite frankly , i had never seen any info on such as your photo,etc.shows my very sheltered upbringing while in the south.
